Graduation Day

 

It's official, we, the Class of 2012, are now docents of the IMA!      ( I'm afraid it is quite obvious as well that I am not a photographer.)

After a FUN review session and enormously funny skit present by the Docent Class of 2010, we received our diplomas.

Then it was time for refreshment in the Fountain Room and a chance thank our mentors for all of their time and support.

The Dana and Katie Tour Roast

 

This past Wednesday Sharon planned, and beautifully hosted a surprise party for our docent class facilitators Dana and Katie. Peg, who has also been an integral part of the class was the co-conspirator who made sure our guests got to the party.

Thank you Peg.

  

A wonderful lunch was provided by the 'kitchen crew'; Ann, Lynn, Monica, Cindra, Kathy M. and Marsha.

 

For entertainment we roasted our dear teachers with a parody of a museum tour. Here I am tying the main topic of our tour, Dana and Katie, up with the rest of the presentation.

 

Monica shared the importance of being on time.

 

Dawn explains the usefulness of postcards.

 

Cindra makes it perfectly clear.

 

Julio exhausts himself talking with his hands!

 

Ann, with Nancy's help, reminds us not to touch the artwork.

 

Marsha shared a brilliant demonstration for making up what you don't know.

 

Lynn, with her assistant Frank , reminded us that the frames are part of the artwork. Thank you for not hitting Frank with the baseball bat!

 

Kathy A. made the complicated, simple.

  

Katie expresses surprise to find out she wasn't to be spared during the roast. After all, the woman behind the woman is very important.   

 

And we got to share the event with our special guest Nancy McMillan.
